What is tagua?
Tagua nuts come from palm trees in Ecuador, South America. Tagua is naturally white inside, and is used as an ivory substitute, giving it the nickname of “vegetable ivory.” This helps to prevent poaching of elephants. Artisans will add dyes to the nut to create the fun and vibrant colors you see here!
